About Perspective Counselling

Perspective Counselling believes that there is a time for everything and that includes an appropriate time to seek help that will enable living life to the fullest ... to thrive and flourish not just survive….

There is a time for everything…

a time to be born and a time to die…
a time to kill and a time to heal…
a time to weep and a time to laugh…
a time to mourn and a time to dance…
a time to search and a time to give up…
a time to keep and a time to throw away…
a time to be silent and a time to speak…
a time to love and a time to hate…
a time for war and a time for peace. ….
(NIV Ecclesiastes 3)

Mission

Perspective Counselling began in July 2004, with a mission to serve the community at large with professional, affordable and accessible Christian based counselling.

For too long obtaining the services of a counsellor has either meant a long wait in the public system or a service that is financially out of reach for the average person.

AIM / Goals

Perspective realises that we all long for a healthy balance in the busyness of life and the adventures that it brings. In order to enjoy this adventure and take on the opportunities that arise we need a strong sense of wellbeing - physically, emotionally and spiritually.

In order to enable clients to achieve this goal of wellbeing Perspective provides individually tailored counselling in the areas of:

• Relationship…couples (pre-marriage, enrichment or CPR …restoration)
• Relationships … family
• Parenting issues
• Adolescent Issues (Teenage depression, self esteem, HSC management, sexuality)
• Individuals Past hurts, current crisis, fresh perspective, future solutions … wellbeing
• Conflict Resolutions/Communication Skills
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Stress Management
• Time Management
• Grief (Loss is not just about bereavement, we grieve many losses in our lifetime)
• Pastoral support

Services are available to all ages

Perspective has seen clients as young as 5 and as gracious as 75… you are never too young or too gracious to appreciate a safe place to “download” the worries or the challenges of life’s traumas and adventures!!!

Confidentiality

Perspective treats this very important issue of confidentiality with the greatest care and respect. Confidentiality is central to the client’s sense of confidence and safety during the process of counselling.

Confidentiality can only ethically be disregarded under the following circumstances:
• It is believed that the client is at risk of harm, either at their own hand or by another person.
• It is believed that the client intends to deliberately harm another person.
• A court subpoena of records.
• Client is bringing court actions against counsellor.

Perspective Counselling is run by Joy Strahle. Joy has an appreciation of the issues that challenge us every day. She has a passion for people and a desire to see them grasp opportunities … to flourish, and thrive and to find the solutions that enable living a balanced fulfilling life, rather than merely surviving …
